About the Author

Kaneshia Williams

Kaneshia Williams is a poet, storyteller, and music-industry professional from South Carolina whose pen moves between worlds — from the raw, unapologetic verses of I Speak Poetry to the gentle forest magic of Camping with Cryphus.

Her work celebrates Black identity, resilience, and grace: honoring the strength of Black women, unveiling the untold chronicles of Black history, and handing the next generation of artists a real roadmap through the modern music business.

“This book is a celebration of blackness, a reminder of the power of words, and a testament to the enduring spirit of the black community.”

When she isn’t writing, Kaneshia runs BHOA United Records, her independent label and music distribution company — living proof of the very guidance she shares in The Music Industry Guide. Writing runs in the family: Camping with Cryphus was written by her daughter, Ty’Neshia Williams.
